Arabic WordNet is a specialized program for Windows developed to facilitate access to online language databases. As a valuable linguistic resource, it assists researchers and students in understanding the word relationships in both English and Arabic.

Extensive word database

The application features a comprehensive graphical interface organized with clear sections for searching nouns and verbs. Each language has its own word sense tree located at the bottom of the panel. Thus, you can explore correlations between terms.

Due to reliance on the Arabic WordNet database, it is possible to access a comprehensive collection of words and their semantic connections. It acts as a reference for understanding word meanings, synonyms, and notions. To read islamic texts, you may try another utility called Desktop Quran.

Advanced functions

It is important to note that you can select synsets to gain more knowledge. The synonym ring consists of information in English and displays if a translation into Arabic has been carried out. There is also support for updating the database with new interpretations.

Last but not least, you may choose to export the data in several formats, namely XML or CSV. In order to do so, you need to click on the Export option under File menu. This causes a dialog box to appear where you can pick the preferred extension.
