AOL Instant Messenger is a Windows software for communicating with friends, family members and colleagues over the internet. Users can view the current status of each person in the contact list to evaluate their availability. Please note that AOL Instant Messenger is discontinued and no longer supported by the developer.

Communication capabilities

Like in QQ Messenger, you are able to chat with other people by sending text messages and emoticons. There are instruments for creating group conversations with multiple participants as well. Additionally, an option to share various types of files over the network is provided.

It is possible to manage the contact list by adding new entries, removing unneeded people and editing existing records. Users can create a custom away message to inform others of their absence. Moreover, there are embedded multiplayer mini games such as Hearts and Reversi.

Profile configuration

Tools for expressing your individuality through small animated avatars are included. The nickname, age, gender and other personal details can be modified. There are flexible privacy settings and multiple visual interface themes to choose from as well.
