ZiPhone is an open source Windows utility for jailbreaking iPhones and iPod touches. The process is very simple.

Setup

To access the main software functions, it is necessary to have iOS 1.1.4 on your mobile device. If your phone utilizes an older version, you can press Prepare for Upgrade to set it to DFU mode and then use iTunes to update the firmware.

Functions

With this tool, you are able to jailbreak, unlock and activate portable Apple devices. You do not need to perform complicated actions to use all three functions at once. The application has a separate button that allows you to proceed with all of them in a single click. Please note, it is recommended you make a backup of your photos, videos and contacts before trying.

Additionally, the program will automatically downgrade the bootloader if you have the device with firmware 1.1.2 or a newer version.

Operational characteristics

This Windows application features an intuitive interface and provides a variety of customization options. Users can select individual unlocking options as well as toggle baseband functions like Fake IMEI.

The program does not allow users to unlock iPod Touches and unlike the DoulCi Activator tool, it is not able to jailbreak iPads.
