ZEISS ZEN is a specialized Windows application oriented toward scientists in various fields, including biology, medicine and chemistry. It contains tools for controlling a wide range of first party microscopes. Please note that the free version of ZEISS ZEN has limited functionality.

Image acquisition and management

Similar to Plugable USB Microscope Software, you can adjust the brightness and contrast of the picture before taking photos of the microscopic sample. Moreover, there are buttons for zooming in and out as well as for focusing.

It is possible to organize captured images and video clips into separate categories for easier navigation. Additionally, users are able to assign individual tags to pictures.

Processing options

After acquiring required photos you can filter and segment them to better fit project requirements. Instruments for measuring the distance between two points, area of a custom section or physical dimensions of any element are included.

Users are able to perform various fluorescent microscopy tasks such as colocalization, object tracking and quantitative picture analysis. There are tools for 3D reconstruction and image reconvolution as well.
