YouTube Redux is a Windows plugin for Chrome that is intended for tweaking the YouTube page layout to replicate its old look. There are precise playback control tools as well, including frame by frame navigation. Moreover, it is possible to automatically unpause videos during long sessions.

Interface enhancements

You can change the number of thumbnails per row on the homepage according to personal preferences and display resolution. There are checkboxes to further tweak various visual settings like:

Restore old comment section;
Apply darker red hue to UI elements;
Disable page scaling, etc.

An option to force a smaller video player is provided. Additionally, users are able to turn off infinite scrolling and show exact values for likes/dislikes. This functionality is especially helpful due to the fact that YouTube stopped displaying these statistics a while ago. There are other addons with similar features such as Social Blade.

Advanced capabilities

The extension lets users restore older icons and change the shape of avatars, mimicking legacy design elements. Furthermore, it is easy to select the desired logo and favicon styles. Video previews can be disabled as well, which is beneficial when working on a slow machine.
