Xara Xtreme is a Windows utility for designing various graphics. It is possible to fill spaces with textures, adjust layer transparency, drop shadows and add bevels. Moreover, the content aware rescaling option allows you to stretch photos into new shapes without making the key elements look deformed.

Design process

After starting the program users can import images from the hard drive or any other storage device. There is support for a wide range of common file formats, including JPG, BMP, PNG and TIFF. Alternatively, it is possible to begin creating a new project from scratch.

Please note that Xara Xtreme is discontinued and no longer supported by the developer. Modern graphics editors with similar functionality such as Ulead Photo Express are available for download.

Image processing

One of the most interesting features of this application is the ability to stretch pictures into different shapes without distorting the key elements. It is done by analyzing the photo to identify the main subject and then deforming only the other areas of the image. The person or object in the foreground remains unaffected.

You can export the project to several image formats. The output frame dimensions and quality level are customizable. Additionally, there are powerful optimization algorithms for reducing the resulting filesize.
