WX Instant Search is a Windows application intended to help users quickly find any item on the local hard drive or external storage devices. There is support for a wide range of formats, including text documents, images and executables.

How it works

On first startup the utility will automatically scan the entire desktop to ensure that all your files are indexed and easily accessible. This may take up a lot of time depending on the current storage capacity and the amount of target data.

When users make changes to existing items or create new files, the program immediately adds them to the index. As a result, a lag that potentially occurs with other search tools is eliminated.

Filtering and preview

Similar to Copernic Desktop Search, you can refine search results based on various attributes to simplify the operation. It is possible to filter the list by:

Date;
File type;
Size;
Keywords.

An option to construct complex queries is provided. Users are able to find exactly what they need, even when dealing with massive datasets. Additionally, the contents of located items can be previewed without opening them in the corresponding app.
