WordWeb is a Windows utility for looking up dictionary definitions. Similar to WordNet, there are instruments for displaying all synonyms and antonyms associated with a specific word. You are able to configure a shortcut for quick access to main functionality.

Word definitions

After installing the software users can instantly search the included dictionary by holding the Ctrl key and right-clicking almost any word on the screen. This action will open a window with a detailed dictionary definition, corresponding Wikipedia article as well as lists of synonyms and antonyms. There is a button for voicing the word to learn the correct pronunciation.

You are able to add custom reference sources to the database. This functionality is helpful for expanding the base vocabulary.

Settings

A checkbox for allowing vulgar and offensive words is located in the Preferences menu. Users can toggle the drop-down suggestion list that is displayed automatically during typing. An option to run the program with Windows is included.

It is possible to choose between several regional variations of the English language like American, British, Irish, Canadian and International.
