WinSock XP Fix is a Windows application designed to help you to restore Internet connection broken due to corrupt files and registry entries.
General notes
There are a few steps you need to take in order to restore a broken connection and many users prefer not to intervene because of their limited computer knowledge. With this tool, you can repair the connection with a single click of a button.
The interface of this utility only holds two functional buttons for the fix and registry backup processes. This makes the program safe to use, as you have the option to create a copy of your current registry state before applying the fix. The backup operation is taken care of by a third-party tool entitled ERUNT.
Operation
After you launch the application, it will automatically detect the current operation system. This is done because the repairing operations of newer OSs differ from the older ones. When you press Fix, the software releases the network adapter IP address and resets the TCP stack. Once these tasks are completed, the program replaces any registry entries with default values.
If you want to find malware that causes problems with your Internet connection, you may use special antivirus utilities like Anvi Smart Defender.
