WinMD5 is a Windows software for generating MD5 hashes to ensure the authenticity of files obtained from the internet. It is possible to automatically compare the computer and reference checksum values, minimizing manual errors.

Hash calculation

After starting the application users are instructed to drag and drop the target item into the workspace. Alternatively, there is an option to import the desired file via the Browse button. Similar to HashTab, the hash sum will be instantly generated and displayed in the corresponding section.

You can paste the reference value into the input field and click Verify to compare two alphanumeric strings. Validation results are shown in a separate window. Different checksums indicate that the file was modified during network transfer and is potentially harmful.
