WinHex is a Windows application for interacting with hexadecimal data. There is support for multiple types of storage devices including hard drives, CDs, DVDs, memory cards and diskettes. It is possible to modify the system memory contents, replace numeric values in compiled programs and perform other data manipulations. Like in Eraser, users can irreversibly delete files from the computer.

Viewing options

Supported formats include DD, IMG, CTR, E01, VHD and other common types. The main purpose of the program is low-level editing of hexadecimal byte sequences. Flexible tools for searching and replacing individual values are provided. Moreover, you can set bookmarks for easier navigation.

Additional instruments

Users are able to restore information deleted from any hard drive or other storage device. There are several scan methods to improve the chances of successful recovery.

It is possible to clone logical partitions and create disk images. The RAID array restoration feature is included as well. You can split data backups into several pieces for easier transmission over the network.

The AES encryption algorithm is fully supported. There is a random number generator for creating secure passwords.
