Weka is a program package for Windows that provides you with a collection of learning schemes and tools for data mining. Moreover, the presented algorithms can be applied directly to a dataset of your Java code or JVM projects.

After launching the application, you are able to view four available sections that you can access, namely Explorer, Experimenter, KnowledgeFlow and Simple CLI.

The first one gives you the ability to open a dataset or a database and edit its contents. You can also filter the data, change the attributes and visualize the result in a bar chart. In addition, it is possible to classify the available information according to a predefined set of rules, as well as conduct cost and benefit analysis that automatically displays the threshold curve and the cost matrix.

Additional capabilities

Besides this component, the software also includes instruments for data clustering, association rules and attributes evaluator. Moreover, you have the possibility to use the program for data plotting, as it enables you to view and analyze point graphs for each combination.

Create machine learning algorithms

The utility is suitable for developing new machine learning schemes. In order to do that, you need to configure your experiment by choosing its type, either classification or regression. Also, you have to select the desired dataset and algorithm and then run it. The results may be saved in ARFF or CSV format or as a JDBC database.
