Vocaboly is a special program for Windows designed to help you learn the English vocabulary using various learning techniques, including interactive games, listening and spelling exercises. If you want to study other languages like German or Dutch, you may use another utility called Anki.

Intuitive layout

The application features a simple and streamline graphical user interface with all the main features located on the left of the main window for easy access. The first step is to select a username and the desired book to study. You can learn new words by choosing the mode, namely free study, learning group or study card.

From the Book menu you have the ability to add a new book or import, export or manage your existing collection. If you want to know more about a specific word or simply listen to its pronunciation, you may use the search function to look it up.

Free study

The Word Ticker option shows a series of words along with the sound associate to them. You can start by defining how many words you want to learn in the current session. Next via the built-in recall function, you are able to see what you have remembered.

Additionally, the software has a dedicated spell checker menu where the previously displayed words are checked for spelling mistakes. If you want to hear how they sound, you need to use the Listening section.

Learning games

The program also features two types of games to make learning fun. The first is a card guessing game using your memory of the words. while the second relies on speed typing to verify the information.
