VOB2MPG is a simple program for Windows that enables you to quickly convert VOB files from DVD folders into MPEGs. It comes equipped with a simple and easy-to-navigate graphical interface. There are two viewing modes, namely VOBSET, for when you specify the DVD folder, and IFO, for the corresponding files.

Operation

The extraction procedure is quite straightforward, since all you need to do is load the DVD source file, configure the corresponding settings, and specify the output destination. The last step is to initiate the process. Once you have placed the VOB items in the queue, you are able to pick which one of them you want to convert. It is also possible to see chapter’s start and end time, view the duration, adjust audio streams, and preview the movie.

Advanced configuration

From the Settings menu you can toggle the utility to remember window dimensions, auto-play DVDs, force AC3 and aspect ratio, as well as eject tray when completed. It takes a few seconds to load VOB files, however it manages to finish a task in quite a short time. Please note that the tool may require additional codes for some of the tasks. For example, you may use such collections as Media Player Codec Pack or SLD Codec Pack.
