This utility helps users create 3D models and send them to CNC machines. It is possible to utilize woodworking tools and generate multiple prototypes.
VisualMill
VisualMill is a Windows software for designing complex 3D models that can be cut on industrial CNC equipment. You are able to automatically calculate toolpaths. There is support for continuous machining in 3, 4 or 5 axes.
Model preparation
Users can import 3D objects created in AutoCAD, Blender or another graphics editing program. Supported file formats include 3DM, SAT, DXF, DWG and STL.
The machining strategy and head movements are calculated automatically. You are able to manually edit toolpaths and adjust the operation speed for achieving the best results. Tool properties and post-processing options can be further configured in the Machine tab. This program supports aluminum, steel, wood and other common surface types. It is possible to add new textures from external files.
Tool creation
There are instruments for designing custom machining tools. Users can specify physical dimensions of separate elements and select the correct holder type in the drop-down menu. Tool speed, direction and feed rate can be changed to better fit the project. Users are able to set the maximum spindle velocity for preventing CNC machine damage in case of issues during the cutting.
Please note that VisualMill is a paid software. The free trial version does not allow you to save the project.
