Visual MODFLOW is a Windows software that lets you model water flow parameters in a virtual environment. It is possible to calibrate advanced fluid properties. You can visualize the results using 2D or 3D graphics.

Brief description

This utility contains instruments for modeling groundwater flow and contaminant transport in a virtualized three-dimensional environment. The package includes several components like MODFLOW, MODPATH, ZoneBudget and WinPEST for constructing and emulating realistic scenes.

Users can choose Imperial or metric units. Model properties and boundary conditions are customizable. There are manual and automated techniques for object calibration.

The application does not contain tools for advanced river flow calculations. You can download HEC RAS for this purpose.

Water properties

It is possible to explicitly define boundaries and horizontal leakance attributes. This functionality is important for complex simulations with multiple water sources, lakes and aquifers. Users are able to display detailed historical graphs for evaluating lake parameters such as the stage, precipitation, evaporation, runoff and volume changes. Several bodies of water can be plotted on the same graph for comparison.
