VirtualDJ is a Windows program oriented toward both beginners and professional musicians. Similar to DSS DJ, it contains two decks for playing and mixing audio files. Users can adjust the gain, pitch and volume with the help of included controls.

Music library

After starting the application you are able to add songs to the collection by dragging and dropping items into the workspace. Alternatively, there is an embedded file browser for navigating to the library location.

The playlist can be sorted by title, artist, length, beats per minute and other attributes. The album cover image is displayed on the right side of the interface along with all other available metadata.

Playback capabilities

It is possible to load two separate tracks onto the decks and mix them together. Users can apply audio effects such as flanger, reverb, delay, echo, noise and phaser. There are tools for looping the playback and seamlessly transitioning between the songs.

You are able to choose one of the provided window layouts depending on the task. Available view modes are:

Starter;
Essentials;
Pro;
and Performance.

Flexible instruments for customizing the interface even further are included as well.
