Virtual Music Composer is a handy program for Windows that gives you the means to create your own musical themes. It allows you to listen to various preset recordings as well as use them as a foundation for your own compositions.

Generate songs

The graphical interface might seem a bit perplexing at first as it lacks obvious menus or buttons. Upon closer inspection it becomes evident that small arrows control selection of the settings. Using these buttons, you can choose the key signature, scale, motif mode, and phrase mode.

After adjusting the aforementioned parameters, you need to press the Compose button. Once a few minutes have passed, the application will generate a song. The output is tied to the chosen settings, however, the developers do not provide information about the exact process.

Save results

The resulting music is divided into individual phrases that can be saved separately. It is worth mentioning that you can also export the entire song. This version stores phrases and compositions as WAV files. MIDI items require an upgrade to be saved.

Please note that unlocking the full functionality of the program is impossible due to developers stopping support for this project. Alternatively, you can create songs by writing notation and save MIDI results with another utility called NoteWorthy Composer.
