V Ray for SketchUp is a Windows utility for integrating an extension into SketchUp. Users are able to generate realistic models for interior design, 3D printing and architectural projects.

Brief description

After installing the plugin you can access it via the Extensions menu or by clicking the corresponding button on the floating toolbar. Detailed instruction manuals and tutorials are included in the package.

With the help of this add-on users are able to adjust various rendering parameters such as lighting, material textures and object mapping. It is possible to create realistic shadows and reflections as well.

Editing tools

There is a module for designing unique materials by tuning the color, refraction depth and other settings. You can generate transparent layers and map textures to individual objects. Materials with two different sides are supported as well.

Rendering

The program utilizes several different sampling methods like full-scene antialiasing and progressive path tracking. Moreover, users are able to insert additional render elements such as diffusion and refractions. Advanced color mapping control tools with custom image samplers are provided as well.
