UMDGen is a lightweight and reliable program for Windows that enables users to create and edit PSP-compatible ISO images. In addition, it is possible to convert existing image files.

Overview

The graphical user interface consists of a window divided into multiple panels, dedicated to browsing folders, rerouting files, editing UMD properties, viewing sectors and converting images in batch mode.

In order to load an ISO, you can use either the file browser or simply drag and drop the item into the workspace. Here you have the ability to see the name, size, LBA and last date of modification for each image.

ISO configuration

You can assign a file as source and relink other items to it, write master disc information and volume identification data and update folder contents. Moreover, you have the option to optimize the ISO by removing excess padding and resizing data.

Conversion

When it comes to conversion, the utility supports the ISO, CSO and DAX formats for the output. In addition, you can specify the compression value.

It is possible to use custom padding, associate PSP images with the app and disable UMDGen sounds. If you want to convert videos for the console, you may use another tool called ALLConverter to PS.
