Ultralight MIDIPlayer is a Windows program for playing MIDI music. Users are able to pause and resume the song at any moment. Additionally, there is a virtual piano keyboard for visualizing individual notes in real time.

Playback capabilities

You can open MIDI and MID files located on the hard drive by dragging and dropping them into the workspace. Like in MIDIculous, tools to pause or stop the music are available. Moreover, it is possible to tweak the default playback speed and skip forward in 1 second intervals. There is support for multiple virtual synthesizers such as:

Gervill;
Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth;
Real time sequencer, etc.

An option to scan and restore damaged MIDI recordings is provided. This enables users to automatically fix audio tracks corrupted due to hardware malfunction or virus infection.

Visualization

The application displays each played note in the main window. You are able to switch between different rendering modes, matching personal preferences. There are flexible overlay menu parameters like scale, opacity and position as well.

Users can take screenshots during playback, saving relevant notes for further manipulation. Furthermore, the entire visualization may be saved to the hard drive as a video clip.
