TwonkyMedia Server is a program for Windows which enables you to stream multimedia content over a home or corporate network. It is necessary to mention that the application is compatible with computers, as well as with embedded and mobile platforms.

General notes

The software solution gives you the ability to aggregate the desired media files and make them available from one central source. Similar to Plex Server, you can create a large collection of music, pictures and videos to share and view in any location.

Configuration process takes you no time as it is ready to launch immediately after installation. By default, it designates Music, Photos and Video folders as the primary sources for multimedia items. However, it is possible to change the standard selection and make other directories available for aggregation. Moreover, you have the option to add new containers even if they are found on removable storage devices.

Functionality

Once the Aggregation feature is switched on, you can have the computer do one of three things, namely to ignore the newly found media, list all the items in the navigation tree or copy them to the main server. After the selected files are indexed, you are able to preview them from your browser to make sure that no personal data leaks out.
