Trinus VR Server is a program for Windows that bridges the gap between your computer and virtual reality headset. This means you can experience a wide array of VR content using your Daydream compatible phone.

Install and connect

Setting up the utility is relatively straightforward. The first step is to install Steam and SteamVR on your machine. Then you can deploy the server component and specify folder locations for the aforementioned software solutions. The last thing you need to do is setup Trinus VR client on your smartphone.

There are different ways to connect to the server. You can join the same network as the PC. Alternatively, you may choose to interface with the computer via USB cable. The latter method helps you to improve the overall performance.

Controller profiles

The tool offers the ability to map two virtual actions to a single Daydream physical controller. The main and secondary input devices will share the same movement but manage buttons independently. For instance, you can assign triggers to the left and right edges of the touchpad for dual wielding weapons.

Additionally, the program provides custom mapping capabilities for actions like crouching or running. In this case the second controller can invert the movement of the main one. If you would like to configure Oculus Rift VR headsets, you may use a corresponding app called Oculus Runtime.

Features

  • free to download and use;
  • compatible with modern Windows versions;
  • allows you to play VR games using Daydream phones;
  • you have the option to create custom controller profiles;
  • it is possible to customize streaming quality.
