TrenchBroom
TrenchBroom is a Windows application for creating and modifying levels in various computer games like Kingpin and Daikatana. It is compatible with all parts of Quake as well. Several output map formats are available.
Game selection
After starting the program you are prompted to choose one of the supported titles from the list. It is possible to specify the path to the main game folder if it was not detected automatically.
Level editor
Users can construct the walls, floor and ceiling elements from standard geometrical shapes. There is an option to customize the grid cell size. Flexible camera settings are included as well.
The Entity inspector section contains detailed information about the selected object and surrounding environment. You are able to apply textures to various surfaces.
Utilities like GtkRadiant can help users extract default levels from the game directory.
There are instruments for constructing the map and rendering all internal components. It is important to mention that the main game is required for compiling the level.
Interface settings
This utility allows you to change the background brightness and hide directional axes. Several texture drawing modes are available. Moreover, there is a checkbox for toggling multisampling.
