TracePro is a ray tracing program for Windows intended for the optical analysis of solid models. Employing Generalized Ray Tracing, it enables you to launch rays without presuming the predetermined order of object and surface intersections.

How it works

While traversing diverse paths within the solid model, the utility meticulously monitors the optical flux linked with each ray. It considers aspects such as absorption, specular reflection, refraction, diffraction, and the scattering of light. This ensures a thorough analysis of the optical behavior.

Built upon a solid modeling engine, the tool possesses robust interoperability. It is possible to exchange data with a multitude of CAD and analysis apps, supporting formats like IGES, STEP, and so on. There is also an option to import lens design files.

Solid modeling

All entities generated with the program collectively constitute a model. It comprises individual solid geometry components termed objects. You can manipulate these by combining two or more into a unified entity. To create 3D projects, you may try software like MegaCAD.

The graphical interface simplifies tasks like model viewing, addition of solid objects, and application of material, surface, and source properties. There are numerous toolbar buttons for quick access to commands, and a pop up menu featuring frequently used functions.
