Topaz ReMask is a Windows application for adding new functionality to the popular Photoshop graphics editor. It lets users generate complex selection masks to separate specific objects on any image from the background. Please note that the free trial version of Topaz ReMask will expire 31 days after activation.

Mask creation

After installing the extension you can access it through the Filter menu in Photoshop. The main toolbar contains buttons for selecting the brush type. It is possible to paint the background and other objects in different colors. Moreover, there is a special brush for drawing around the edges to automatically separate required elements.

Users are able to adjust the brush size, feathering, edge hardness, color range and transparency. The Compute Mask button starts the process. It is easy to apply the same preset to multiple similar images.

View modes

You can switch between the original photo, color map and mask. Additionally, an option to view only the parts of the image that will be preserved is provided. There are tools for zooming in and out of the picture for manually editing small details.
