TGATool2A is a Windows utility for working with various types of images extracted from the Microsoft Train Simulator video game. You can edit existing files or import new graphics. Moreover, there are instruments for converting pictures from one format to another.

Supported image types

The software lets users view and edit bitmap BMP files that are known for their simplicity and lossless compression. These images are employed in Microsoft Train Simulator for HD textures adorning locomotives and carriages. Additionally, it is possible to work with high color depth TGA pictures that support alpha channels. Tools for modifying compressed ACE files are provided as well.

Please note that TGATool2A is discontinued and no longer supported by the developer. The installation files are not available. There are other applications for modding Microsoft Train Simulator such as Xtracks.

Conversion and editing

Modders can adjust the brightness, contrast and saturation of individual images. Advanced color corrections and filters may be applied to further modify original files.

You are able to organize, rename and compress separate textures. There are instruments for optimizing custom pictures for better visual quality and reduced file size. An option to automatically import resulting graphics back into the game is included as well.
