TextPad is a Windows software that offers users flexible text editing instruments. It is possible to record automation macros for processing complex data sets. Users can compare two text files to detect all differences.

Main functionality

Similar to Microsoft Word, this utility lets you create large text files with complex internal structure. It is possible to adjust the page size and margins width. There are tools for inserting the current timestamp or date into the document, quickly changing the letter case for all selected symbols and performing other advanced actions. You are able to compile Java code in the text document. Additionally, a powerful search module is included.

Interface

All documents are opened in separate tabs for easier navigation between them. Users can hide all toolbars as well as add or delete specific buttons. There is a fullscreen mode. It is possible to hide vertical and horizontal scroll bars as well.

Preferences

Checkboxes for allowing multiple app instances, reloading the last workspace at startup and sending documents as email attachments are provided. You can replace standard Windows Notepad and configure the system to open all text files with TextPad.
