Ten Thumbs Typing Tutor is a Windows software for mastering touch typing on a keyboard. Users can import iTunes playlists and listen to music during the lessons. Real time typing speed and error statistics are available.

Main purpose

This program lets you train to type on a keyboard without looking at it. There are practice tasks for learning specific keys. You can access lesson reports to evaluate the progress.

Two mini-games are available: Safari Park and Brick Factory. Users are instructed to quickly enter strings of letters for gameplay progression. There are several levels with gradually increasing difficulty. Users can lose the game by making too many mistakes.

Parameters

It is possible to replace default backgrounds with a solid black color. You are able to turn off sound effects and animated characters.

Personal settings include the student name and password. Moreover, users can enable the option to learn numbers and symbols along with the letters. There are several available keyboard layouts: US PC Standard, Dvorak and UK PC Standard.

You can set the word per minute target, change the lesson length and adjust error feedback notifications. Instruments for analyzing your best and worst keys are included as well.
