Gameplay and scoring

In the main mode, the gameplay revolves around arrows that ascend on the screen and intersect with a stationary set of targets. To score points, you need to press the corresponding keys or step on the matching tiles on your dance mat. All of this is done in sync with the rhythm of the song.

The game is scored based upon how accurately you can trigger the arrows in time to the beat of the track. The application assigns letters and numbers to evaluate your performance. The highest grade is AAAA, indicating flawless timing. The E letter signifies a failure to survive the song without depleting your life bar.

Remap keys and install addons

Controller mappings are configured in the corresponding screen. To access it, you need to hit the Scroll Lock button and select the option from the menu. The first thing you will see is a warning telling you to unmap important keys like the arrows and the enter. These are utilized for navigating the menus.

The correct place to install content for the game is the User Data directory. Here you can find folders like Songs, Themes, NoteSkins, etc. To deploy addons, all you need to do is copy the files to these locations. To install mods for Beat Saber, you may use a tool like Beat Saber Mod Manager.
