SpringSharp is a Windows software that allows users to create detailed designs for classic ships. There are instruments for adding armor plates and various types of guns to the model. Moreover, it is possible to calculate the composite strength and normal water displacement volume.

Ship design

After starting the program you can enter the name, country and type of the vessel. The dates of ship and engine construction are customizable as well. There is a checkbox for toggling the transom stern. The next step is to set the length of individual beams and other components. It is possible to select various construction materials.

Like in FREE ship, users are able to adjust the block coefficient slider to change the waterplane area of the vessel. The natural speed is estimated automatically upon entering all required dimensions.

Advanced functionality

You can add muzzle loaders, machine guns and other types of armaments to the project. Additionally, there are instruments for adjusting the armor thickness to find the balance between the protection and weight.

The Engine tab contains tools for calculating the maximum speed and travel range. Users are able to work with different kinds of fuel such as coal, oil, diesel, petrol and batteries. There is support for direct, geared, electric and hydraulic drives.
