Spotnet is a Windows application for downloading music, movies and other media files from Usenet. This client utilizes a custom decentralized XML format. There is support for multiple types of Usenet servers.

Configuration

After starting the software you are prompted to select the content provider from a drop-down menu. Available options include 5 Euro Usenet, Eweka, KPN, NewsXS, XSnews, SnelNL, ExtremeUsenet, Tele2, Pure Usenet and several other platforms. Alternatively, it is possible to manually enter IP addresses for the header, download and upload servers. The maximum number of concurrent connections is customizable as well. Please note that it is necessary to have an account on the selected server for establishing a link.

Interface

Similar to Forte Agent, users can search files by title, description, category, tags and other attributes. There are flexible filters for sorting the content.

An integrated media player lets you preview partially downloaded movies and listen to audio tracks without leaving the program. Instruments for repairing corrupted or incomplete files are provided. All incoming and outgoing traffic can be encrypted to protect your privacy.
