This robust utility was designed to help you prepare 3D models for printing. Moreover, you have the ability to set the extrusion and work table temperature.
Slic3r
Slic3r is a program for Windows that enables you to print three-dimensional objects. Basically, it converts digital models into instructions for your 3D printer. You can adjust the print speed and layer height, as well as import projects from third-party utilities like TinkerCAD.
Calibration
Before proceeding with the printing of your models, you need to configure and calibrate your additive manufacturing device. First of all, you have to select the firmware type, which may be found in the equipment passport or on the official website of the manufacturer.
The next step is to specify the size of the working table. This parameter determines the maximum distance that the extruder travels along the X and Y axis. Furthermore, you can enter the nozzle diameter and the size of the filament. Then you need to set the extrusion and table temperatures. Please note that these settings depend on the kind of materials you are using and will affect the quality of the print.
3D printing
In order to print an object, you have to load a project file in either STL, OBJ or AMF format. You are able to move imported models within the workspace and modify their characteristics. Easy and expert modes are available. Moreover, before sending the model to be printed out, you have the option to select the number of layers and resolution.
