Skyscraper is a Windows application for creating and viewing three dimensional models of high-rise buildings. It is written in C++ using the OGRE graphics engine.

Overview

The main purpose of the program is designing custom skyscrapers with multiple elevators, stairs, interfloor doors, ductwork and other construction elements. Similar to 3D Home Architect Deluxe, you can preview modifications in real time.

Generated buildings are stored in scripted text files that can be loaded and executed for restoring previously created models.

First-person view

It is possible to travel through the simulated 3D environment to explore the inner layout of the skyscraper. Pre-rendered options include many famous real-life buildings like Sears Tower, Triton Center and Seattle Spire.

Users can navigate through the scene with arrow keys. The spacebar is intended for performing a jump. There is an option to hold the Shift key for running.

Simulator control panel

This window contains detailed information about your current location, camera position and framerate. Checkboxes for enabling collision detection, gravity and other simulation options are included as well.
