Scribus
Scribus is an open-source page layout Windows program for creating, designing and exporting desktop publishing projects to PDF.
Creating documents
After launch, the utility prompts you to create a new document from scratch by establishing the layout. You can configure the following settings:
- size;
- orientation;
- width;
- height;
- first page;
- margin guides;
- and several others.
Similar to PagePlus SE, you also have the option to opt for one of the numerous templates made for brochures, business cards and newsletters, as well as packaging and presentations. The project itself may be saved in PDF, EPS and SVG formats. Moreover, you can define the range of exported pages.
Functions and file type support
The application enables you to insert text, images, tables, shapes, polygons and lines. Additionally, you can draw freehand, as well as rotate items, snap them to grid or guides. It is also possible to lock multiple items and easily arrange them in the design using the key arrows.
