Scaleform VideoEncoder is a Windows program oriented toward game modders. It allows users to transform AVI videos and BMP images into USM files. Converted items can be easily incorporated into computer games based on various versions of Unreal Engine.

Encoding process

After starting the utility you are instructed to select source media items by clicking the corresponding button. Additionally, it is necessary to specify the name and location of the output file. A text document with custom cue points can be imported as well.

Users can choose between the Sofdec.Prime and H.264 video codecs. Moreover, there is a toggle for switching between the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii U formats. Flexible bitrate and resolution parameters are provided as well.

The Encode button begins the operation. You are able to monitor the progress and view the error log in real time.

Supported games

A large selection of popular titles uses the USM format to store cinematics and cutscenes. The list includes Witcher III, The Last Of Us 2, Monster Hunter World, Ghost of Tsushima, Dirt Rally, Yakuza Kiwami and many other games created in Unreal Engine.
