Right Track Software is a program for Windows that allows you to design model railroad layouts. It is possible to use Atlas HO and N scale tracks, switches, bridges, buildings and electrical components. Moreover, you have the ability to work with structures from other manufacturers.

Interface

After launching the application, you are greeted with an empty workspace, and a toolbar located up above. The latter contains icons which correspond to a specific function in the main Tools section. This means, you can simply click on a button to access a desired instrument, or use the dedicated menu.

First layout

In order to design a layout, you need to load a track library. Please note that at the end of your session, the Right Track Software remembers which item had been loaded last and will start with it the next time you open the utility

In the selection bar, you are able to pick the desired track section. The next step is to place the object and click with the left mouse button at the position where it will be put down. When you have set the piece, the active instrument is switched to automatically. Thus, you can start connecting selected tracks without having to change tools or click the selection bar again.

Save project

Once you have finished customizing your project, you can save the actual layout to a file with a default RAL extension. It is also possible to pick other formats. For example, you may opt for BMP, PCX, WMF, EMF, or AutoCAD compatible DXF.
