Recuva is a simple recovery program for Windows that enables you to restore the files which have been deleted from your personal computer. It gives you the ability to perform deep scans manually or use a dedicated wizard component, as well as preview detailed information about each item.

Recovery options

After launch, you are prompted to specify the type of files you want to recover, whether they are images, videos, music, documents and emails as well as compressed archives. You have the option to configure the tool to look through the contents on a removable storage drive or an iPod. It is also possible to choose a specific location or the entire system and all connected devices.

Deep scan mode

If previous recovery attempts have been unsuccessful, users can enable Deep scan, which is a comprehensive scanning process that requires more time to complete. Detailed results

Once the scanning procedure finishes, you are able to view the current state of each file by checking their color. Green means that the item is in excellent condition, orange tells you that it is poor, while the red indicates that it is unrecoverable. Similar to Pandora Recovery, you can also see detailed info about each file, such as size, last modification and access time, as well as other characteristics.
