Railcraft is a modification created for the popular game called Minecraft built on Minecraft Forge. Basically, it expands and improves the minecart system by adding new blocks, entities, and features. The project has been in development for some time and contains over eight hundred class files and thousands of lines of code.

Adjust speed

The mod provides you with a few higher speed tracks that ensure a significant boost over traditional ones. While the high speed track is unpowered, it stands at two point five standard speed. The booster track increases the rate to one hundred and five percent, which may be very dangerous. The launch track is more practical as it will send your cart flying into the air, which is great for jumps or for creating an entrance to your home in the clouds.

Protection and elevation

There is also a reinforced track that is quicker and has more health. This means you are able to make sure that your railroad will remain intact and will not be destroyed by creeper explosions or damage from Ghasts in the Nether biome.

The elevator tracks enable you to place pieces vertically and are capable of lowering an attached minecart. This is a convenient solution for creating an elevator system rather than relying on ladders. It is also a good way to deliver your items or access your base by climbing it.
