QuickTime
QuickTime is a Windows utility from Apple for movie playback. It is possible to open a URL for accessing an online video stream as well.
Main functions
This player lets you watch media in fullscreen mode or in a separate window. Playback controls for rewinding, fast forwarding and pausing are provided. Jumping to the previous or next playlist item is possible as well. Additionally, you can switch on the subtitles if they are available.
Several clips can be opened at the same time. This feature is useful for modifying the video. However, the editing tools are not available in the trial version of QuickTime. This functionality is provided in free alternative solutions such as VirtualDub and Windows Movie Maker.
Advanced options
There are sliders for adjusting the volume, bass and treble audio parameters. The picture brightness, color, contrast and tint can be fine-tuned as well. Moreover, users are able to change the playback speed.
The commercial Pro version allows you to edit the videos and save them in different file formats.
