Using this graphics editor you can design 3D models with a unique blocky charm. There are tools for fast and easy creation of digital voxel art objects.
Qubicle Indie Edition
Qubicle Indie Edition is a Windows software for working with pixelated graphics. All models consist of standardized 3D cubes that are called voxels. They can be used to build complex shapes and detailed objects. Resulting models have a distinctive retro style similar to early computer games.
Editing instruments
Users are able to intuitively draw and paint in three dimensions. It is possible to automatically construct and optimize complex meshes in a single step. This functionality is helpful for preparing mobile game graphics.
There is a 2D canvas for manually editing individual voxels by colorizing and distorting them. The mirroring tool lets you quickly generate fully symmetrical objects. Supported voxel image formats include QB, QEF, QBT, QMO, QBCL, VOX and Minecraft Schematic. An option to take a slice of the model and save the results as a PNG picture is provided.
Please note that the Indie edition of Qubicle includes all features, but limits the commercial use to small companies.
Interface
The Scene view shows you the entire 3D environment, which can contain multiple separate models. Several camera modes like perspective, orthographic and isometric are available.
Users can focus on a specific model in the Object view. It is easy to add, delete, duplicate or merge individual sections to better fit the project.
