Psi is a Windows software for communicating with other people over the internet. It utilizes the XMP network for quick and secure data exchange.

Configuration

This program does not require installation. You can simply extract the archive contents in any folder.

After starting the app users can add a new account. The XMPP address and password are required for connecting to the server. There is an option to automatically re-establish the link in case of a network error.

You are able to add personal details to the account. This utility supports the OpenPGP protocol for signing messages with a private key. This feature helps you to verify the sender identity.

There are other instant messengers with a simpler interface such as Skype or MSN Messenger.

Additional options

It is possible to configure the tool to start with the system. Proxy settings can be specified as well.

Chat parameters include auto-delete settings. Users can choose to erase all messages immediately when the window is closed or after a certain period of time. Keyboard shortcuts for switching between multiple chats are available.

Psi provides several sound alerts for new messages and incoming file transfers. You can select any audio file to replace the standard options.
