Protel Advanced PCB is a Windows application that allows you to create complex printed circuit board designs. There are instruments for 3D visualization. Additionally, an option to automatically generate the documentation for the project is provided. Please note that Protel Advanced PCB is discontinued and no longer supported by the developer. The installation files are not available.

PCB design

After starting the program users can start the new project by specifying the physical dimensions of the board. The next step is to add components like diodes, resistors, capacitors, switches and condensers to the workspace. Like in DesignSpark PCB, it is necessary to connect all elements together and configure input voltages.

Advanced instruments for trace routing, copper pour planning and padstack editing are included. It is possible to review a 3D model of the PCB to evaluate the design and detect potential issues with the project before sending the layout for manufacturing.

Export options

You are able to automatically generate documentation files that are required for producing the board. There is support for the Gerber and NC drill formats.
