Privacy Pass is an extension for the Firefox and Chrome web browsers. It offers Windows users a better experience when they are visiting sites protected by the Cloudflare captchas.

How to install

You are instructed to visit the official Privacy Pass website to integrate the extension into the browser. Clicking the icon for Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome will set up the corresponding add-on. It may be necessary to allow the installation in the browser.

Usage

The application is designed for bypassing the security challenges issued by a large number of websites protected by the Cloudflare technology. The main purpose of this defense mechanism is to prevent bot-net attacks by checking if the user is a real human. To do so, captcha challenges or multiple choice puzzles are displayed on the screen.

This extension can send a special pass to the server instead of solving the captcha and get around the security. Several of these passes are added automatically after installing the utility. When you press the “Get more passes” button, a Cloudflare security challenge will appear. If you solve it, 30 more passes will be issued.

If a Cloudflare protection is detected the program will try to bypass it. The website has to support Privacy Pass for the extension to work.
