POWERPREP II is a Windows utility that allows you to train before taking the standard Graduate Record Examination test. There are instruments for evaluating analytical writing as well as verbal and quantitative reasoning techniques.

What is GRE

This test set is necessary for applying to thousands of graduate schools in multiple countries. The Analytical Writing section contains two tasks for evaluating critical thinking skills. Users can review scoring guides and sample topics to prepare for this test.

The Verbal Reasoning module assesses your ability to analyze written material, compile information obtained from it and detect relationships between sentence parts. Finally, there is a Quantitative Reasoning section for measuring basic mathematical skills, understanding of elementary algebraic concepts and ability to solve problems with quantitative methods.

Scoring system

For the first module you receive a mark from two readers on a six-point holistic scale. The score is assigned based on the overall quality of the essay in response to the original task. The other sections are evaluated depending on the performance and the number of questions answered in the alloted time.
