Power Defragmenter is a program for Windows that gives you the ability to perform defragmentation. It does so by reorganizing the data on your hard drive to free more space, thus reducing the chances of fragmentation.

Purpose

The built-in Windows Disk Defragmenter is a useful tool, but its efficiency when it comes to hard drives with extended capacity is somewhat questionable. However, there are alternatives such as the Power Defragmenter, a more advanced software solution that is both effective and intuitive to use.

Overview

Even though originally the application was developed to work on Windows XP, NT and 2000, it runs flawlessly on modern versions as well. The graphical user interface was designed based on Sysinternal’s Contig, a compact utility capable of defragmenting disks and files from the Command Prompt.

Since it was based on Contig, you need to download the files and place it in the same folder as Power Defragmented to use the program’s functions. It is necessary to note that installation is not required, so you do not have to worry about the system’s registry being affected in any way.

Functionality

The software allows you to defragment files, folders and disks and you have the ability to select one of these options from the first step of the defragmentation wizard. In addition, there is a TriplePass mode intended for use with removable disks. If you want to create backup copies, you may use another tool called EaseUS Partition Master.
