Plugable USB Microscope Software is a Windows application for working with the microscope images. There is support for the Plugable 250X and 800X models.

Basic operations

This utility helps you to capture the signal from a USB digital microscope. The resolution settings for the preview window are provided. You can take a snapshot image from the microscope camera and save it as a file. Video recording is available as well. Moreover, it is possible to create long timelapses to detect any changes in the microscopic sample.

All captured images are displayed in the included file browser. They are automatically sorted into folders by date and time for easier navigation.

Picture settings

You are able to tune the image parameters such as the contrast, brightness, sharpness, gamma and white balance. These options are helpful for enhancing the picture quality. Additionally, the powerline frequency can be adjusted to remove the potential flickering.

There are video recording settings like the resolution and maximum file size.

The timelapse duration is configurable from the settings menu. Users can choose the amount of shots per minute as well as the output folder for the images.
