PlayReady PC Runtime is a Windows software for accessing officially purchased movies and audio tracks. It supports the PlayReady copyright protection technology developed by Microsoft.

The program does not require any configuration. It runs in the background and does not interfere with other applications or processes. Updates are installed automatically when needed.

Compatible formats

There is support for various types of media like audio, video, images and text. Moreover, it is possible to connect to protected online broadcasts using multiple communication protocols such as Smooth Streaming, HLS and CMAF.

Users are able to decrypt content protected by several third party DRM systems, including Widevine and FairPlay. The latest version of PlayReady PC Runtime provides support for 4K UHD and HDR movies, secure stop reporting, output protection levels, license chaining and hardware based DRM modules.
