PKZIP is a Windows utility for creating archive files. Any ZIP packages can be easily unpacked with the help of this program as well.
Compressing data
This tool was made by the ZIP standard developers from PKWARE. The current version has a modern interface and allows you to create ZIP, TAR, TGZ and several other archive types.
There is a wizard tool for building the packages. After adding images, documents, videos or any other types of files you are able to choose the compression algorithm. The finished archive can be viewed in Windows Explorer or attached to an email.
It is worth mentioning that PKZIP does not support RAR archives. To work with these packages users can download WinRAR.
Extraction options
It is possible to view the archive contents in an included file browser. Every item can be extracted separately. This option lets you quickly unpack a small part of the large package. Additionally, every archive can be tested to check the integrity of the data.
There is a log file that keeps the details of every operation. It is useful for troubleshooting any technical issues.
