Pixelmon is an application for Windows which allows you to add some design features from the Pokemon games to Minecraft.

What is new

Pixelmon allows you to integrate many aspects of the Pokemon games into regular Minecraft. For example, you can play the pocket monsters themselves in battle mode. It is also possible to breed and trade creatures. In addition, various items important to the universe become available with the help of the application, such as Pokeballs. There are more types of ore and decoration blocks as well as Apricorns.

Special markets will appear in the game at regular intervals in cities where you can buy Pokeballs for the corresponding currency. In addition, these items can be crafted using resources. Another mod for Minecraft is Huzuni.

Mechanics

To implement most of the innovations described above, the application uses classic Pokemon games mechanics. This is typical with battles, for example.

However, there are also differences in the program. One of these is that a suitable environment is required for breeding pets. Also, Pixelmon does not use the random encounter method. Instead, creatures appear in the Overworld, where you can attack them in battle. Normal mobs are disabled by default, but you may bring them back with a configuration file.
